Yard Sale & More

June... 8... How is it June 8? We leave for San Francisco in 17 days!!!

The process for MP2 began last August. (Yes, we were planning for San Francisco even then.) Since then, so much has happened:
  • Paul & Carmiña were chosen to lead the trip (YAY!)
  • Kelly applied and was accepted to be a leader-in-training (Double Yay!)
  • The Team applied and were accepted (Triple Yay!)
  • Paul has used his contacts to find places to work and stay in San Fran, as well as people to work with
  • Had a great yard sale where we raised almost $2,000 for our trip
  • We have practiced & tweaked our wordless drama, "Set Free", trying to make it our own
  • We have learned almost all of our puppet skits
  • We have begun learning new sketchboard messages
  • Taken multiple team photos (and perfected "photo bombing" in one of them)
  • We have grown closer as a team to each other and already learned more about our relationships with God
Getting set up - Adam got to drive the trailer up to the top parking lot with Jianna & Sarah (MP1)
Getting set up - Tim, Jianna, Sarah (MP1), & Ryan (MP1) unload a couch under the watchful eyes of Mr. Sam, Mr. John, and Julie

Getting creative about advertising for the Yard Sale - jumping and spinning helps (Micah - in the chair, Matt - spinning, Ryan (MP1) - jumping, and Stephen (MP1) - supervising)

One of our tasks for the past few months was to read the book Crazy Love. It was fantastic! It really makes you stop and think about your relationship with God and how awesome and amazing he is. If we really love Him like we're supposed to, then we should be practicing the presence of God and living all the time as if He was standing with us (since He is) and not forgetting that He is the Most High, Creator of everything and deserves to be worshiped as such.

We are currently reading another book Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know which explains doctrine that every Christian should know and be able to share.

As a former member of MP myself (2003-2006), I am so excited to be working with this group this summer. It has been a joy already seeing these teens be stretched in their thinking of God. They are ready to step out for Him this summer and I am praying that they will see God work mightily, just like I did on MP.

Please join us in prayer as the countdown has begun until take-off:
  • As always, for open doors for the Gospel (even in our daily lives here before we leave)
  • Team unity
  • Safety
  • Last minute preparations
  • That life outside of MP would not be so hectic as to cause us stress while on the trip or before
  • Finally, that the things we all learn this summer will be brought back with us to "everyday life" and be implemented in what all that we do

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!!
