Week 1

Waiting for rental van
After a three hour flight delay, a long hold up in picking up our rental van and upon seeing our home for the next few weeks in San Francisco, CA, we have to admit that we did not have grateful hearts. However, when we woke up the next morning with new eyes, we could see how the Lord strategically placed us in this location and how he provided us with on site crock-pot, grills, microwaves, coffee pots, toasters, large fridge, and even a cooler for our packed lunches. For those that have been praying for us, know that this is an answer to prayer. City View Church is like that diamond in the rough, and we are so thankful to the Lord for how He has provided and blessed with this jewel.

City View Church follows its name as we have a perfect view of San Franscico. We can literally pray over the city and ask you to continue to pray with us as the hearts of the people are very hard. It is definitely a different crowd here to the East Coast and probably something that we will begin to see in our area a few years from now as people continue to harden their hearts to God. Some have mocked, some have cursed, and some have uncontrollably laughed at us, but in saying that God has given us opportunities to plant seeds. We have been preaching and doing the Set Free skit at Market and Powell Street, the heart of San Francisco, where you go to jump on the old trolley ride. We have had some good conversations and have even started to form relationships. Please pray for Derrick who is a part of security at Market and Powell. He is a Muslim, but has had many questions and seems to be genuinely listening to what we have to say.

We have also preached the Gospel at the Fisherman's Wharf right next to Pier 39, and Delores Park.

City View, is a treasure to us in that we are in a nicer part of San Fran, but just a few blocks away there is a government housing project called Potero Hills. We have started a kids club in this area and are very much welcomed by both the parents and kids. Even the adults have been hanging out to listen to the programs. The kids just love the teens; some of which we have to pry them off in order to leave. Most of these kids probably do not get much love and therefore are taking all they can get. Fact, yesterday we found out that Potrero Hills is where O. J. Simpson grew up.

The Mission Possible team is such a great team, and have been jumping in with both feet to do what they are told and the tasks at hand. We have already formed a great routine for cooking with our crock pots and been on wild adventures to the grocery store shopping for healthy foods for 5 days and filling 4 grocery carts to the top! Nothing we do is small and it was announced that we are the Dougger family!

Next week we are going to continue our ministry at Potrero Hills while also training some churches in the area to do the same. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We feel your prayers and already see God answering our prayers and at work in and through us.
